Mom

I looked up omens to see if there was one specific to the owl carrying a snake etc. but ultimately I was disappointed. It is interesting to note that almost everything you might see or run into at sanctuary has either a good, neutral or bad omen attached to it. such as:

A dog eating grass - rain (no mention of what eating a squirrel might bring though you might have some thoughts on this matter)

If a bird poops on your car, it is good luck.

A cricket can tell of oncoming rain, death, and x-lovers.

Catching a dragonfly - marriage within the year

Seeing a lone fox - good luck -Seeing several foxes together - bad luck

If a pig crosses your path - unlucky - not sure what the smell means

If a rabbit is passing in front of you - good luck but if it is passing behind you - bad luck (if they are all over the place and you can't tell because there are just too many - you can make up your own meaning)

Finding a spider on your body - Good Fortune (I think the wild dance that is initiated after finding the spider on your body and the sheer relief of having it off you is the good fortune part)

Killing the first wasp of the season - good luck (as in good luck in catching one I think)

Ah isn't the internet a fun and fabulous place? have a great day tomorrow and remember - A left rabbit hind foot, carried in the left pocket after having been removed from a rabbit that was killed during a full moon by a cross-eyed person is truly lucky - good luck with that!

Dear Connie,

Spring has definitely sprung around here, and I am loving it! I traveled to Oklahoma last weekend and had the pleasure of hearing a mockingbird sing at 1 a.m. That was a new experience for me, and I was astounded that the little guy could sing so many different songs so beautifully and in such rapid succession. Truly a miraculous creation! When I arose at 7:30 a.m., he was still singing!

So, my thought for you today is that you keep on keeping on -- in darkness and in light, keep on singing all of your beautiful songs!

Love you,
Mindy
